About Cozumel

Once a sleepy little fishing community, Cozumel has evolved into an ideal exotic location with something for everyone. Visitors can enjoy stunning views, rest and relaxation, plenty of water sports and recreation, Mexican culture and history, and a fascinating array of wildlife.

Cozumel island, at 28 miles long and ten miles wide, is Mexico’s largest island. Located 12 miles off the coast of the Yucatan peninsula, Cozumel is famous for it’s white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and dazzling coral reefs. Cozumel is known, in particular, for it’s diving and snorkeling, and is in fact one of the top five diving destinations in the world.

Located in the Caribbean, Cozumel’s climate is subtropical, with temperatures averaging 79° F (29° C) – making for an ideal, comfortable year round climate.

Cozumel’s west coast is where the majority of development has taken place, and is where the city of San Miguel is located. Rich in Mayan history and influence, there is no shortage of historical sightseeing to be done. Of course, there is also no shortage of shopping, fine (and casual) dining, nightlife and entertainment, and diving and snorkeling.
